Syria regime acknowledges deaths of 1,056 people forcibly disappeared, report reveals

“Syrian healthcare workers detained by regime forces for providing care have been held longer than those arrested for other reasons.

The regime are focused on targeting the activists [including healthcare workers because] they are at the heart of the uprising, the regime want to punish them more than anyone else, SNHR chairman Fadel Abdul Ghany told The New Arab.

The Syrian regime destroyed their medical workers, captured thousands of them and killed hundreds of them, it has lead to lots of medical workers becoming terrified and leaving the country, he added.

Syrian health care workers’ heroic sacrifices have largely been forgotten. The fate of all the forcibly disappeared, including medical personnel, must be revealed to stop this never-ending cycle of suffering and mental anguish. — Fadel Abdul Ghany (@FADELABDULGHANY) November 11, 2021”
