Information Minister, Hamza Al-Mustafa, discussed with Fadel Abdulghany, head of the Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) the status of media in Syria and the mechanisms to enhance the presence of human rights issues in national media discourse.
The meeting addressed activities of the Syrian Network for Human Rights inside the country and underscored the importance of cooperation between media institutions and human rights organizations to promote a culture of human rights, enhance transparency and ensure credibility in media work.
Speaking to SANA, Abdulghany emphasized that the media plays a pivotal role in embodying concepts of transitional justice and advancing human rights culture.
He noted that the media serves as a bridge to convey complex legal concepts, details of transitional justice, accountability files and human rights issues, transforming them into matters of public awareness.
Abdulghany added that the discussions focused on future cooperation between the Network and national media, aiming to reinforce human rights culture and draw the Network’s extensive expertise during this critical stage in Syria’s history.
Ministry of Information considers cooperation with national human rights organizations as part of a broader vision to integrate specialized expertise into media coverage.
